Anthony is your clear point of contact, with Safeguard carrying out roofing work across Cork City & County.

  2. 20 Years’ Roofing Experience

Anthony brings 20 years’ hands-on roofing experience, having started from a young age in the family roofing business.

  3. Fully Insured

  4. Honest Advice & Clear Scope

An isolated defect does not automatically require a complete replacement. We assess the roof, explain the recommended work and agree the scope before work begins.

  5. Quality Materials

We select materials and roofing systems to suit your roof and the proposed work, with care around junctions, edges and drainage.

  6. Clean, Considerate Workmanship

Respect for your property, tidy working areas and clear communication are part of how we approach every project.

Real roofing work you can follow

Our project photographs show the work at different stages, including defects exposed beneath existing coverings. In Ballincollig, suitable tiles were cleaned and re-laid over renewed membrane and battens. At Midleton, a new tiled roof included dry ridge and dry verge systems.

The Cork valley and natural-slate dormer repairs explain how we reached the failed components and rebuilt those areas. The vacant-property restoration and insulated slate roof show more substantial work, with the scope described alongside genuine site photographs.

These examples help you compare the kind of work your property may need. For the details of your own roof, we assess the condition and prepare a quotation; the same specification will not suit every property.

OUR WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

From your first call to the completed work

Tell us where the property is and what you have noticed. We arrange an assessment, explain the available options and provide a free, no-obligation quotation for proposed roofing work. A written roof condition report is a separate service and should be agreed before booking.

Before work starts, discuss the materials, programme, access and arrangements for any hidden defects discovered when the roof is opened. Safeguard typically provides a 5-year guarantee on repair work and a 10-year guarantee on new roofs. Confirm the exact terms for the quoted work in writing. Product/manufacturer warranties vary depending on the product, generally 10–20 years. Confirm the exact terms for the selected product; these are separate from Safeguard’s workmanship guarantee.

During the project, we keep the work and communication focused on the agreed scope. If you have a question about the completed roof or the terms of your work, contact Anthony by phone or email.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A little clarity before you start

Practical answers to common roofing questions.

Ask about your roof
How Do You Know if a Roof Needs Replacing?

No single symptom proves that a complete replacement is necessary. The condition of the roof should be assessed as a whole.

Replacement may be worth investigating where there is:

Widespread deterioration across several roof areas

Repeated leaks occurring in different locations

Large numbers of damaged or failing slates or tiles

Significant deterioration beneath the roof covering

Recurring repairs that are no longer solving the wider problem

Extensive problems with battens or underlay

Structural defects requiring substantial roofing work

A major renovation where the existing roof is already in poor condition

Can You Replace a Roof During Winter?

Roof replacements can be carried out at different times of year, but roofing work is naturally weather dependent.

The best timing depends on the individual project and weather conditions rather than simply the season shown on the calendar.

How Long Does a Roof Replacement Take?

The programme depends on the roof size, design, materials, access, weather and whether additional work is discovered once the existing covering is removed.

A straightforward residential roof will naturally progress differently from a large detached property containing several valleys, chimneys or complicated roof sections.

Rather than relying on a generic completion time, the expected programme should be discussed once the roof has been inspected and the full scope of work is known.
