Safeguard installs and replaces skylights, rooflights and VELUX roof windows across Cork City and County. We handle new installations, same-size replacements, older rooflights, replacement glazing enquiries and roof windows for loft-conversion spaces. Larger, bespoke or electric specifications are quoted individually. The scope depends on whether we can reuse an existing opening or need to create a new one.

If the type plate is safely accessible from inside, its code can help identify the existing window model and size before a replacement is specified. Share the code, a clear photograph of the plate where safely accessible, and photographs of the window or roof area taken from inside or ground level. There is no need to climb onto the roof.

A roof window is not an isolated component. We consider the window, appropriate flashing, surrounding slates or tiles and waterproofing around the opening together. The roof covering matters when specifying the installation and flashing.

We install roof windows on suitable slate and tiled roofs. The surrounding roofing and flashing specification depends on the covering and proposed window. Rooflight work on flat roofs needs its own assessment and specification.

If roof replacement is also planned, discuss the window before the new covering is fitted so the opening, flashing and finishing can be coordinated. We provide a free quotation based on the property and agreed work.

Product and manufacturer warranties vary by selected product and are generally 10–20 years where applicable. They are separate from Safeguard workmanship terms; a fixed product warranty does not apply to every skylight or roof window.
