Roof Repair Services Across Cork

We repair roofs for homes and businesses across Cork City and County, from isolated leaks and broken slates or tiles to storm damage and more involved repairs. We assess the problem and explain the work needed to put it right.

Roof repairs we carry out

We can help with:

  • Leaking roofs and recurring water ingress.
  • Missing, broken or storm-damaged slates and tiles.
  • Flashing, valley and chimney-junction repairs.
  • Ridge and verge repairs.
  • Flat-roof repairs.
  • Membrane and batten repairs where opening-up identifies deterioration.

Find the cause before choosing the repair

Tell us when the leak appears, where you see water or staining and whether previous repairs have been attempted. This helps us understand the problem before assessing the affected roof and surrounding details. You do not need to climb onto the roof to gather this information.

Leaking roof? Start with the cause.

Water can travel beneath a covering before appearing inside. We assess surrounding slates or tiles, flashing, junctions, valleys and drainage, along with relevant areas beneath the covering where opening-up is required. Patching directly above an internal damp mark does not necessarily address the actual entry point.

Can your roof be repaired without replacing it?

Many roofing problems can be repaired locally. A broken tile, local flashing defect or isolated valley problem is different from widespread deterioration of the membrane, battens or covering. We assess the surrounding roof before recommending the scope, explain what can remain and identify whether further opening-up is needed. Where a local repair is appropriate, complete replacement is not necessary.

What the valley and dormer repairs involved

At our Cork valley project, the failed valley was exposed by removing surrounding slates. We installed a new timber base and membrane before completing the valley and reinstating the covering. The photographs show the damaged area and the renewed valley beneath the slates.

On three leaking natural-slate dormers, we stripped the coverings, inspected underneath and installed new breathable membrane and pressure-treated battens before rebuilding the roof sections. These dormer repairs show why sound-looking coverings sometimes need to be lifted to reach the failed layer.

Planning the repair and comparing quotations

Agree the area being repaired, proposed materials, access and disposal, together with any chimney, valley or junction work involved. If hidden damage becomes visible after opening the roof, we discuss the additional work and agree the revised scope before proceeding.

A minor repair, more extensive repair and complete replacement are different scopes. The quotation should reflect the problem and the surrounding roof condition, so you can compare the work actually proposed.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Useful answers before you decide

Practical answers to common roofing questions.

Ask about your roof
What are the signs that my roof needs repairing?

Leaks or water staining, damaged or missing slates and tiles, damaged flashing, visible storm damage and recurring roofing problems are reasons to arrange an assessment. Moss alone does not establish that a roof needs repair.

Can a leaking roof be repaired without replacing the entire roof?

Often a local repair is appropriate where the surrounding roof remains sound. Widespread deterioration of the covering, membrane or battens may need broader work. We assess the condition before recommending the scope.

How do you find where a roof leak is coming from?

Water can travel beneath the covering, so an internal damp mark may not be directly below the entry point. We assess the surrounding roof covering, flashing, valleys, junctions and drainage, with opening-up where needed to understand the defect.

How much do roof repairs cost in Cork?

Published indicative ranges are €150–€400 for minor repairs, €500–€2,000 for moderate repairs and €3,000–€8,000+ for major repairs. Prices are plus VAT and exclude scaffolding. These are not quotations; access, materials and hidden damage affect the agreed cost.
